The Lugano Lowry

The eye of the beholder may define great art, but William Catchpole thought he could persuade the eye to see only what suited him.

The Lugano Lowry

The Lugano Lowry is the book which the producers in The Southend Spielberg have decided to make into a film.
It has all the elements, the exotic locations, the wealth, the deception and the big drama at the end.
It sets out to tell the story af an art dealer who is a rogue and takes everyone for all he can. It is not that he has no interest in art, he studied it at college and appreciates much of the material he sells.
His trouble is that as a banker from a family of bankers  for all his artistic pretentions he can't stop being what his family had intended all along.
And inevitably this leads to behaviour which is rather questionable.
William Catchpole gets away with murder, metaphorically speaking until one of his early misdemeanors catch up with him from an unlikely chain of events.
His problem now is that he has no idea that he is the subject of an elaborate sting and such is his arrogance that he is well and truly hooked and can only look on in horror as his empire collapses before his and the eyes of the worlds press.
